Free training for those who support adult learners at home or in the community

Places are available, free of charge, on the following modules at Edward Road Baptist Church Balsall Heath on Tuesdays 1:00pm- 3:00pm

20th April to 4th May "Knowing where to start"- ways of identifying learning needs, using assessment techniques and signposting.

11th May to 15th June "Supporting your Learners"
- teaching and learning cycle, models of support and working as a team. Developing communication skills, health and safety, safeguarding vulnerable adults and working with disabilities.

22nd June to 20th July "Teaching literacy and English for Speakers of other Languages.Brush up on grammar, useful resources, amd key influences on language development and teaching methods.

ASA Level 1 Swimming Teachers Course

In the current climate, it is good to have as much training under your belt to enhance your C.V. as possible. This training is open to anyone who would like to attend at the price of £370.00. For Birmingham City Council employees we have managed to receive some funding and you can access this training at the reduced price of £270.00.

The course is being held at The Munrow Centre, Birmingham University commencing on 23rd April and will be held on Friday evenings up until 25th June. All the details regarding this training are attached.

Basic Expedition Leader Award

October 2008 onwards

The Basic Expedition Leader Award is intended for anyone who has the responsibility of looking after others, particularly the young, out-of-doors, or who wish to train others to carry out day journeys and backpacking expeditions. It has nothing to do with mountains, climbing or ropes.
